Supply chain executive search built on depth, not speed.

Most recruiters race to send CVs. Our supply chain executive search process takes a different approach — every engagement starts with understanding your business, mapping the market completely, and then approaching the right candidates with a compelling, confidential proposition. It takes slightly longer. It works significantly better, whether the search is based in Sydney, Melbourne or elsewhere across ANZ.

Jon-Paul Hilton, supply chain executive search consultant at Sigma Search

Every step below is led personally by Jon-Paul Hilton, Founder & Managing Director. You will never be handed off to a junior consultant or account manager. This is the Sigma Search difference — and it's why our clients come back.

Average time to shortlist: 3–4 weeks. Average time to placement: 6–7 weeks. 95% retention rate at 12 months.

Our Supply Chain Executive Search Process

Day 1–3

1. Discovery & Role Design

We meet with you (and ideally the hiring manager) to deeply understand the role, team, culture, reporting lines, and what success looks like at 6 and 12 months. We don't work from a job ad — we build the brief together.

Week 1–2

2. Market Map & Talent Landscape

We build a comprehensive map of every relevant candidate in the market — who they are, where they sit, what it would take to move them. You'll receive this as a deliverable before we approach anyone, so you see the full picture.

Week 2–4

3. Confidential Outreach & Screening

Targeted, personalised approaches to passive candidates. Every conversation is positioned around the opportunity, not a hard sell. We screen for technical capability, cultural alignment, and motivation before anyone reaches your desk.

Week 4–6

4. Shortlist Presentation

You'll receive a curated shortlist of 4–6 candidates with detailed profiles, our assessment notes, salary expectations, and market context. No padding — only candidates we'd genuinely recommend.

Week 5–8

5. Interview Management & Offer

We coordinate the entire interview process, provide structured debrief after each stage, and manage the offer process including counter-offer mitigation. We stay close to the candidate through resignation and notice period.

Ongoing

6. Post-Placement Support

We check in at 30, 60, and 90 days to ensure the placement is working for both sides. Our 12-month replacement guarantee means we stand behind every hire. Most of our client relationships span years, not transactions.

Stages 1–2 above are also available on their own as Market Intelligence or Sourcing & Longlist — see Services on the homepage for details.

This structure exists because supply chain executive search is a different discipline to general recruitment. The talent pool is smaller, the stakeholders more senior, and the cost of a bad hire far higher — so we borrow the rigour of professional bodies like the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals when we assess a candidate's fit, rather than relying on a job ad's list of buzzwords. If you'd rather run part of the process yourself, our retained search engagement can be scoped to cover only the stages you need.

What makes us different

Specialist, not generalist

We only recruit in supply chain, logistics, and procurement. That means deeper networks, better candidate assessment, and faster identification of the right talent.

Principal-led, always

Jon-Paul leads every engagement personally. You won't be sold by a director and serviced by a graduate. The person you meet is the person who delivers.

Data-backed advice

Every search comes with market intelligence — salary benchmarks, competitor landscape, talent availability. We give you the data to make informed hiring decisions.
